VPN Issues on T-Mobile

Issue: VPN does not operate, or quickly stops working, when turned on and using a T-Mobile based connection.

Most VPNs still do not natively support IPv6 connections. The T-Mobile network actually operates its 5G Stand Alone (SA) network using only the IPv6 protocol. This is a problem if your VPN does not support IPv6 natively and automatically (Almost all still do not).

Solution: Set your InvisaGig Network Mode to LTE+5G NSA with SA disabled.

1: Login to your InvisaGig
2: Select Menu #4 ‘Connection Configuration’
3: Select Menu #1 ‘Network Mode (LTE/LTE+5G/5G)’ and accept the warning
4: Select Menu #2 ‘LTE & 5G’
5: Select Menu #2 ‘Disable SA’

The InvisaGig will notify you that the mode has been set, and will immediately start using LTE and 5G NSA together, but not 5G SA. It should not require a reboot.

On T-Mobiles Non-Stand Alone (NSA) 5G network, it will use both IPv4 AND IPv6, allowing for better more stable VPN use, as well as better WiFi calling support, and IoT device services support and use.
