Bugs Remediated

  • Fixed blank password after factory reset
  • Fixed multiple data output error scenarios on Modem Info screen including failure to output carriers with spaces in their names (i.e. ‘Verizon Wireless’)
  • Fixed missing “Invalid selection” warning before returning to the Main Menu when entering an invalid option after previously issuing a valid menu option (in some scenarios the user would be returned to main menu when entering an invalid selection).
  • Updated data call initiation to use modem vendor preferred command set
  • Increased call handler intelligence on network detach/reattach scenarios thus improving connection reliability and further limiting manual intervention scenarios
  • Fixed APN loss upon reboot after moving from AutoSelect to Manual profile selection (an immediate reboot is now required and automatic when profile AutoSelect is disabled).

Feature Changes/Additions

  • Certificate installation and local hosts modification is no longer indicated as a requirement for setup due to overwhelming feedback. Users can simply navigate to the IP of the unit over HTTPS (default: ‘https://192.168.225.1’) and accept their browsers’ security warning to proceed. If accessing the IP over HTTP by accident, the user will be redirected automatically to HTTPS. For those who want to use the certificates and/or installation scripts (which add the preconfigured IG hostnames to their local hosts file and install the certificates), the following URLs over HTTP will still allow them to download the files (default IP used as reference):
  • Added a MacOS installation script to the provided cert install scripts (for those who want to install the certificate / hosts file entries)
  • Changed landing menu order so that Login is the first option to be more intuitive.
  • Internet connection status has been removed from the menu headers to improve navigation performance. Connection status remains in the Modem Info screen and has been moved to the top. Connection status is now color coded: Green for working DNS resolution, Yellow for failing DNS resolution but successful IP ping, and Red for no Internet connectivity at all (ping failure). When status is Green, the actual public IPv4 and IPv6 of the connection will be displayed (these IPs will be the carrier’s CGNAT addresses unless the provisioned plan includes a static IP assignment from the carrier).
  • Modem Info page now includes better descriptive outputs for items which were previously blank when null data was received(ex. ‘[No SIM Detected]’, ‘[No Manual APN Set]’, etc.).
  • Manual APN and Carrier Profile Selection menu options have now been combined into a single menu option called “Carrier Profile Selection & APN”. This allows for use of Automatic or Manual carrier profile selection.
    • If the Auto selection option is chosen, AutoSelect will be enabled and the unit will be rebooted. If the unit is already set to Auto selection, no change will be made.
    • If the Manual selection option is chosen, AutoSelect will be checked and if active, users will be asked if they wish to turn it off and reboot automatically prior to choosing a manual profile. This was done because it was found that if AutoSelect was deactivated and another APN was set prior to reboot, it would be lost after reboot. Once the reboot is complete the user can then make a manual profile selection. The user is warned the manual profile selected will be enabled and the unit will be rebooted a final time for the change to take effect. This eliminates the previous, additional task of a manual user reboot…
    • Visible, Verizon, and multiple T-Mobile (Standard, Wi-Fi calling and TMHI) profiles were added to the manual Carrier Profile selection menu. This is helpful for users of various Visible, Verizon and T-Mobile plans. These selections take care of setting the known respective APN that is working for these carriers (i.e. ‘VZWINTERNET’, ‘fast.t-mobile.com’, ‘fbb.home’).
    • Setting a manual APN can now be accomplished by choosing Manual profile selection, then selecting the first profile called “Generic w/ Manual APN”. This sets the Generic profile and allows the user to specify an IP type and APN manually.
  • Changed “CARRIER IMAGE” to “CARRIER PROFILE” on Modem Info screen
  • Reorganized Main Menu so that it intuitively matches landing menu order. Change Password is now #1, Modem Info is #2, Live Signal is #3. The other menu options move up one in order since Manual APN selection was merged with Carrier Profile Selection.
  • Preliminary SMS Read/Delete support has been added as Main Menu option #12, called “Text Messages”.
  • Changed “Multiple Modem Setup” menu option to “Local IP & Multiple Modem Setup”. The name change is due to the overall enhancement of functionality under this menu option. Now, under both single and multiple unit selections, the user may choose to enter their own custom IP for the IG unit provided it falls within the valid IPv4 private address space (10.x, 172.16.x, or 192.x).
  • The user-specified MAC address used for IP Passthrough (IPPT) in a Multiple Modem scenario has had its prompt verbiage updated for better clarity. User-specified MAC for IPPT is now a prompt in the Single Unit selection as well
  • Added color coding to Live Signal’s RSRP/RSRQ/SINR to match User Manual legend
  • Out of bounds signal returned under Live Signal (‘-32768’) was replaced simply with ‘null’, indicating absence of an actual value reported by the modem.
  • SIM carrier now shown under Modem Info output
  • Added list of currently enabled bands to the Band Locks input prompts to minimize trips back and forth to the Modem Info screen.
  • Factory reset now asks a user twice if they are sure they want to reset to factory defaults.
  • The IG Update Check now checks for updates and then asks the user if they wish to install the update (‘y/n’ prompt).
  • Entering ‘DARKMODE’ at the main menu provides an inverted menu color experience for those visually sensitive to white light. Other color coded objects do not yet offer alternative hues when dark mode is active so the default UI will still be preferred by most for viewing screens such as Live Signal.
  • The list of connected and enabled bands on the Modem Info screen is now contextual to the Network Mode selection. Ex. if the modem is in LTE only Network Mode, only the LTE bands band information will be shown, if in 5G SA mode, only 5G SA band info will be shown etc. This allows further room for other dynamic outputs such as Tower Lock status info without requiring scrolling or a larger window.
